Our memories are not accurate.

It’s a needle drop followed by the needle scratching across the record, and it all shifts.
It shift from me to we. Sounds clique but it’s true.
We’re always striving to improve our kids’ experiences. We want to raise them in a way that when they think back on their childhood, the happy memories stand out.
We want them to be happy.
But what is happy?
How do we raise happy kids?
There are thousands of books on this, but I believe we raise happy kids by stringing together lots of moments. Quiet moments, celebratory moments, teaching moments. And these moments add to create a life.
Raising kids we are on double speed all the time. Living my own life as well as the responsibility of someone else’s life.
When you are raising around, there is not time for reflection. You are going, going, going. As an American, it;s pat of our culture. Get ahead. Make the most of your time. Create generational welatj.
But after doing that for years, I realzied my life had become a blur. Yes, some memories were crystal clear, but was that from the photo or the real experience?
As the Heath brother say ‘We want to create memories that matter.’ of the people we care about: the patients we treat, the customers we serve, the students we teach, and the kids we raise. We want to create memories that matter. Great experiences hinge on peak moments. We’ll call them “defining moments”: short experiences that are both meaningful and memorable.
